I am SO enjoying my stenciled wall {if you missed it check it out here} and I am SO excited to get going on more stenciling projects!!!
Perhaps some AMAZING Stenciled Curtians like these by the Lolly Jane Gals
Or an ohhhh so cute Mustard Yellow Dining Room by the Lolly Jane Gals
But until then, here is a little bit more about my stenciling experience and the how to part of things! First of all I found my stencil at Cutting Edge Stencils Online {check them out here}.
I made sure the wall I was working on was clean and dry. The wall should not have been painted in the last 24 hours. Then position and tape your stencil to the wall (I used a not very sticky type of masking tape, but blue painters tape would work too!)
Then I used my favorite pure white chalk paint on a small (dense) paint roller for my paint application. And then with light pressure paint within the stencil (I pressed too hard in a few spots and had a little bleeding outside of the design…. good thing I used chalk paint, it is so forgiving I was able to just clean off the design so it still looked okay.).
Then I just kept repositioning the stencil for each area until everything was filled in. My design is SO not perfect… but I truly believe that I am the only one that will ever notice the imperfections!
And really, what a fun and simple way to add a huge impact in a space and design! I am in love!
SOOOOO,
What do you think?!?!? Would you like a chance to win your own stencil???? Cutting Edge Stencils is offering to give one lucky winner a stencil valued up to $50 (US residents only please)– You can choose your favorite from their site and it will be shipped for free!
