I truly don’t think I can think of a more favorite thing to share with you guys than a room reveal. Especially when it is a part of my HUGE renovation that my husband and I took on this summer with our new house! Slowly but surely we have made some great progress with our place and I have to say that it is SO fun seeing the before and after photos now that it is over and looking how it turned out exactly how I had wished it would!
Chic and elegant. Light and white. And lots and lots of the lake view!
Going from this—the official before photo…. with the lake view completely blocked….
to this, I think we officially reached all our goals for the space!
Isn’t it crazy that when we toured the house we saw this but pictured our final product?!
We knew we would have to take down walls and include this 3 season porch into our living space…. and boy was it worth it! I think we ended up gaining 600 sq ft of living space but more importantly we have an AMAZING lake view now!
I have to say that this fixer-upper is slowly but surely starting to look more and more like my dream house! Its just good that we didn’t lose sight of our goals along the journey!
Because it surely was a journey! Starting at the beginning…. stripping the walls of the old rooms.
We removed layers of insulation, re-did all of the electrical work in the space, re-routed the heating ducts, stripped layers of ceiling (we had a wood planking over a layer of ceiling tiles).
Then when everything was re-routed and ready we built temp walls and took down the original walls in the space so that we could then place our headers which then allowed us to remove all of the load bearing walls. (Which we happened to have a LOT of!)
Then we had to re-insulate the 3 season porch area so that it could be part of the new living space.
and even though at this point in the process we were still SO far from being finished when the walls came down I was excited. I was picturing the room exactly as it turned out.
And that gave me hope.
to get here!
I am linking up to a few of my favorite link parties… be sure to check them out here.

Very, very nice!
I was a real estate agent for several years. Many of my clients wanted the perfect house in the perfect setting and it’s almost impossible to find both at the same address. Too many of them just couldn’t see the potential. You were fortunate to find such a diamond in the rough and blessed to have the vision to turn it into a true gem.
Wow! Congratulations – absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the feeling of space in the room, love that chandelier, and love that you have such a wonderful lake view too! Thanks for sharing all the “during” pictures too – looks like a huge amount of work, but definitely worth it!
It is definitely a dream house! That view, those numbered chairs, that rug and most importantly – that amazing, statement making chandelier!!

Oh it is so very beautiful, certainly looking like a dream home
The room looks beautiful. I love the chandelier and the candles on the table.
Amazing, and the chairs just slay me, I mean, mismatched but with awesome numbers on the back (which I assume have personal meanings). So, so perfectly you!
Jess

Wow. What an incredible transformation! We’re working on a remodel of our own, but I don’t know that we can match the level of change that you’ve brought to your home. Awesome.
That is such an amazing transformation! You must be so excited with the results!
