What does fall decor mean to you?
To me it means bringing the outside beauty and natural elements indoors.
BUT fall decorating is NOT always simple for me in my house.
It starts out with the first fight, the fight to get the outdoors indoors. My husband fought me to the end about dragging sticks out of his burn pile indoors. My pups think it is AMAZING. They love sticks, and they think I have done them the courtesy of bringing them inside for their chewing and destroying pleasures, they in-fact think it is a brilliant idea to destroy them on my new rugs…. hummm–no good!
Fall decor also means embracing burlap, which is my second fall decorating issue. That darn stuff makes my eyes water and makes me sneeze like crazy…. and my sneezes are NOT the sweet small quite kind…. they are the loud startle the neighbors kind…
and so, I literally have to treat the stuff like the plague and get it set up just right and then run away and enjoy from a distance!
mmmm, but it is worth it in the name of fall decorating right?!
Lets see, then there is my hoarding issues that are only encouraged when I decorate for fall.
I mean really, it would have been a tragedy if I had thrown away that last scrap of fabric from the chair that I just re-finished…. and good thing I didn’t, because really it adds just a little something to my fall decor right?!
and I guess those books that I have not plans to read can jump on that bandwagon too,
and the plaque that I picked up at a garage sale years ago, that I just finally up-packed, re-painted, added fabric and then letters to, yes that plaque can be added to my hoarding list of shame.
And so, oh boy, it is official, fall decorating is bad for: my husband and dogs, my allergies and my hoarder tendencies!
I am linking up to a few of my favorite parties-check them out here!

Lol — poor thing! The dilemmas we face as decor lovers! Way to take one for the team, Jaime.

Haha My pups would love the sticks too! I have a pitcher like that. Love the sticks coming out the top. I might have to do that on my front porch though… not sure Quinn could fight the urge.
Great stuff girl!
Ha ha! I totally know this feeling. If I collect pretty stuff outside, the hubs wants to throw it in the fireplace (if I’m lucky, he asks beforehand *g*) or the dog chews the stuff up. I still remember the big fight we had over pine cones!
My dog would eat them too! He eats rocks… not sure how that works, but he does it, lol!
LOVE your fall sign. Ok fine, I love everything you do! : )
Cute idea with the sticks! Walter would be in heaven!!!
I LOVE your wood floor!!!
your husband sounds like mine! he fusses when i bring in sticks to paint and decorate with. hilarious! we have a cat that trys to get into anything grassy so I have to be careful what types of arrangements I make!
I meant “tries” not “trys”!!! hate it when i don’t catch a typo!
