If you happened to miss my announcement yesterday… well then you may be a little lost, but let me get you all caught up…
It is official, my husband and I are 3 months into our very first pregnancy!
But before I get into details, I cannot even tell each and every one of you who took the time to leave me a sweet message how much it meant to me.
Now let me get you all filled in with where we are in our pregnancy!
Starting with the proof!
I have been trying really hard not to tell each and every one of you here on my blog. It always amazes me how much all of you turn into real life friends! And since that is the case, I want you all to be a part of our journey, and all of its emotions!
Both my emotions and his!
I have to say so far, we are both over the moon excited.
Please excuse the double chin on the right side picture… but I thought it was warranted since a stick full of urine was being waved in front of my face!
Even though I took 7 pregnancy tests throughout the first 2 weeks of finding out I was pregnancy (around week 5) it didn’t feel real until we had our first ultra sound on week 7. Our little one officially has the nickname bean, because well… yes, it looked a bit like one when we first saw it
What an amazing feeling to see the little flutter of that beautiful beans heart beat for the first time. My heart just skips a beat even as I am writing this just thinking about it.
Not much has been going on so far in my pregnancy, but I do have to note a few things about the journey so far.
1. I have been tired. No, pooped. Exhausted. That was part of the reason why my Christmas decorating was never completely “finished” this year. And why I opted not to blog at times. Please forgive me. I hear that now that I am at 13 weeks I should start getting some of this energy back and to say I am excited, well that is an understatement!
2. Little things make me really emotional. Caleb and I told my dad and step-mom that we were pregnant over Thanksgiving by giving them a copy of the book “I’ll Love You Forever”, I read it before hand….and lets just say I didn’t make it through the first few pages without some ugly sobs.
3. I have been very nervous about my pregnancy so far. I refused to tell anyone I was pregnant until after our second ultra sound which was this past Thursday and officially put us at 12 and 1/2 weeks. I think it is because I am a very science and medically oriented person. I know the risks of miscarriage very well because I have studied them many times. I know all of the details of development because they were parts of numerous biology classes I took both during undergrad and dental school {yes, even dentists have to study the whole body and all of its parts}. And well, I know that things can happen. And since I have been so nervous I have also been a bit detached. And so it is now officially time for me to start embracing that little bean will likely be with us and make it to July when are due. And so, with all of your help I want to start getting very excited about this little miracle growing inside of me.
I think I will start my “excited” phase of pregnancy by starting a pinterest board– and I am inviting you to to join me and helping me pin things that I need to know and see. Things to make me excited and things to teach me. So what do you say? Do you want to help me pin ideas? Let me know what your pinterest name is and I will add you as a pinner!
Yay! I am excited!
P.S. 12 & 13 week photos coming tomorrow!
And, if you are enjoying my baby details, be sure to stay connected! You can sign up for e-mails when new blog posts come out on my sidebar. You can also get updates on twitter, facebook and google + andddd the most exciting way (I think) to stay up to date is to follow on instagram (user name: jaime_craftyscrappyhappy) — pictures will be seen there FIRST!

THIS is totally my “happy” for today, Jaime ~ I soooo remember those exciting days, weeks, and months awaiting a new little one! I’d love to help you pin some things, though it’s a tad out of my realm.
We’re already connected on Pinterest, but I’m heidiopia.

I just started following you last night so I don’t “know” you well, but congratulations. I can totally relate to it not feeling real until after the ultrasound and not telling anyone until after the 12 weeks as we did the same. Wait until you feel the baby move for the first time, boy will it be real then
My eldest turns 16 next week and in some ways it feels like just yesterday. Enjoy, they grow up (and tower above you) so quickly.
Best wishes,
Julie

First I gotta tell ‘ya, we don’t see near enough photos of you on your blog, you are beautiful. And yeah, ok, so I’m oogling the mister too, more of him is fine too. Second, what do you need for Bean?…… diapers, wipes, jammies, food, and your arms for rocking. That’s it. Everything else is extra.

Yahoo!! I am so excited for you!! That is one lucky baby!!
Congratulations, Jaime!!!
I too am expecting (with my 2nd) I am 15 weeks, so not too far ahead of you.
Take it all in, and enjoy the whole experience, it’s so amazing. It also goes super fast, before you know it you’ll be on your way to the hospital delivering the little one
Are you going to find out what you are having?..
Have a great day,
Jordann
Hi Jaime,
I have been following your blog and feel like I know you. I am SO excited for you and your hubby (and pups, of course!). My husband and I had our first child 3 weeks ago today. He is such a joy!!! I know you will make a great mom.
Please try not to worry. I know it is tough not to, but I know that I worried throughout my whole pregnancy and only started to enjoy it during the last few weeks. When you start to worry, picture your little one’s little toes and fingers. That little image really helped me along. All that worrying and I now have a beautiful (and I might add perfect) baby boy!!
Best wishes to you and your hubby! I look forward to following your baby news while on my maternity leave!
p.s. I would say you have a little bump. If I didn’t know, i might be suspicious you were expecting.
{oregon follower} Just saw your post about your pregnancy, and without knowing who you are other than following your blog, I am so excited for you and your husband and little bean. <–What a cute little nickname btw! Already following you on Instagram! Excited for you to experience life as a mom and everything God has blessed this moment for you to be! And I must say…cute little bump!
CONGRATS! It’s such an amazing journey! And your little one will have such a beautiful home!
You guys are seriously too cute, I love the reaction photos! I still have yet to take my first “official” weekly photo. Guess I’m just not feeling it yet since I’m not showing… oh well, patience
