What do you think sweet blogging friends, are you ready for another bump update!?
I think it is safe to say that the bump is there, but there hasn’t been any official “popping” out quite yet.
I have heard from a few of you that that is coming and SOON!
And I have to say, he isn’t popping yet either!
- How far along?: 17 weeks in these photos 18 and 1/2 in real life!
- Baby is the size of a: an onion
- Total weight gain/loss: -2 lbs
- The Bump: Yep its there… just not all that big yet.
- Symptoms: I was all excited beacuse I was feeling GREAT and though my first trimester sleepiness was finally going away, but then I started getting sleepy again last week… hummm! I am ready to be done with that part of the pregnancy for now, I am used to being an active girl!!!
- Food Cravings: Fruits fruits fruits! And veggies. I could eat tomatoes all day! And blueberries and raspberries are always going to be gone as soon as I bring them home lately!
- Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope, although I must admit the smell of coffee still really grosses me out STILL! {so so strange since I am normally addicted to coffee}
- Sleep: Well I have to admit I am not sleeping the best already. I toss and turn. And I somehow miraculously end up on my back every night which I am not supposed to be sleeping on anymore…. hummm. I also have taken on yet another pillow so I am officially using 2 regular sized pillows, 1 king sized pillow and 1 body pillow. Wow! Lets just say that there isn’t a lot of extra room in our bed anymore, so the poor furry babies are forced to sleep on the floor now.
- What I miss: Hummmm, I did miss having a beer during the Super Bowl last weekend with my friends, but otherwise not much to be missing so far!
- Weddings Rings On or Off: On.
- Any Names Picked Out Yet: Nope. A few that Caleb and I agree on but we really just need to know if this little bean is a boy or a girl so we can get serious on this one!
- Gender Prediction: I am officially 50/50 on this one! I originally though that the bean was a girl, but lately I have been leaning more towards boy. My good blogging friend Taryn said that she thinks that the heart rate has a lot to do with it and beans has been falling in the boy range!
- Movement: Not yet but I hear that is coming any day now! Yayy! I can’t wait!
- Maternity Clothes: Nope, not yet. Although I am starting to get out of my state of denial and start realizing I may need some in the near future. Shirts are just fine, but paints are getting uncomfortable… I do have to say that the button extenders are wonderful, I am hopeful that I will be able to wear my dress/work pants for quite some time still! Really, any maternity clothing shopping advice is welcome!
- Labor Signs: None.
- What I’m excited about/looking forward to: I can hardly wait to find out if this little bean is a boy or a girl February 28th is our big day for that one!!! AND, I can’t wait to feel the baby move around in there, it sounds like it could start any day now!

If you continue to be really tired, have your doctor check your iron levels. My problem was anemia!
It’s fun to watch your progress and I hope you are able to find out what your precious cargo is soon. It sure makes it more personal to be able to name your baby and buy special things for him or her! I just found out I’m going to be a Grandma again in October so I’m very excited too!
So cute! And I was TOTALLY the same way with coffee. I live for coffee and couldn’t drink it until like the last month, then only cold. And I lived off of Starbucks half caff cold lattes

You look so great! Sorry to hear you are feeling a little tired again. I could not stand the smell/taste of meat when I was pregnant so I needed extra vitamins. If you still feel tried, have your doctor check out your levels

All this non stylish mama of 6 will say about maternity clothes is it’s better these days than years ago. Anything almost goes, embrace the belly instead of trying to do the impossible – hiding a watermelon in cotton.

Hi Jaime! You can really see your cute little bump popping now! I kept a record of my pregnancy similar to yours and felt the baby at 20 weeks for the first time (I’m a first time mom). I bet that you are almost there!! As for maternity clothing advice…I’m a teacher so needed to dress professionally. I sprung for some clothes at Motherhood Maternity, but also found GrEaT luck at….The Salvation Army! I would stop in once a week and was amazed to find Motherhood Maternity clothing that had barely been warn by expecting moms before me. Just something you might want to try once in a while when you are out and about! I can’t wait to hear about your little one’s gender! So close! Yea!!
(p.s. I think the Chinese calendar is more accurate than the heartbeat…my little guy had the heartbeat of a girl the whole time lol)
